About Us

Our passion for antique wall clocks has started with the purchase of the first Morbier clock in 1997. This Morbier clock with the stamped brass framing and scene: Nun teaches novice used to be the main time indicator at a central spot in our flat. Typical to most Morbier clocks it does not only reliably indicate the time, it also strikes the half hour and the full hours which are repeated 2 minutes after the hour.

Impressed by the ruggednes of a more than 100 years old clock and its high precission, we have started to explore the variety of antique clocks. The collection started growing through purchases at antique clock fairs, auctions, clock dealers and other collectors.

We have decided to focus on Morbier clocks. The variety of still available clocks seems endless as they have been built in telework during its more than 200 years of production. Most of our clocks are in operation, requiring completeness and full functionality. If restorations are required we ensure that old parts are maintained as much as possible.

To extend our collection we are looking for Morbier clocks with rare escapements and complications. We are interested in clocks with additional indications, complex striking trains and musical mechanisms, to give a few examples. With an increasing focus we offer less complex clocks from our collection to everyone who is interested.

Besides collecting these fascinating clocks we enjoy discussions with everybody interested in Morbier clocks. In addition these WEB pages shall help to exchange related information.

We are looking forward hearing from you and appreciate your feedback to the UniqueClocks.de WEB presence!
